Studio Portrait Photography Session, London

A couple of weeks ago I had a portrait photography session in London for the portfolio book of the young model Balazs who is starting his career in modelling. We didn't have a lot of time to plan the photo session in detail and set a theme as I was running between getting ready for a destination wedding in South of France and editing some pregnancy photography shots and designing an album of another destination wedding in the French Riviera. So the session was quite spontaneous and improvised, but I think we got some lovely portrait shots in the London studio. The Black&White one is my favourite, though I guess it won't be chosen by booking agencies, but it will be one for my personal collection of B&W portraits. This week we will have another photography session with Balazs to create a street portrait photography look for his portfolio.

Engagement wedding photography Central London

A few weeks ago I photographed Ana and Jean engagement photography session in Central London.
We originally discussed to do the engagement photos in the Kensington gardens in London as they live nearby however on my way to meet them I saw this lovely yellow cinquecento parked nearby their house. I just loved the combination of the yellow and white of the car and the houses. I also love the more classical London engagement photos of Ana and Jean with the bikes and the typical white houses of Nottinghill area.
Ana and Jean are getting married in June and I'm delighted to do the wedding photography of their destination wedding in Toulon in South of France. With a beautiful couple like Ana & Jean and the magnificent views of South of France this destination wedding promises to be amazing and full of opportunities for beautiful artistic wedding photography. I can't wait to do my first destination wedding photography commission in South of France for this year.

Bar mitzvah Photography Lord's Cricket Grounds, Central London

It was fun and pleasure to photograph Theo's Barmitzvah in Cenral Lodnon. I have photographed the barmitzvah of Theo's brother Joel three years ago, so I was delighted to be asked by the family again to photograph Theo's bar mitzvah on his 13th birthday.
A barmitzvah photography is often a three day event with a rehearsal at the synagogue one day, a family dinner the next day and the barmitzvah day on Saturday.
The barmitzvah started with the service in the synagogue in Belsize Square followed by a big party in one of the suits in the Lord's Cricket Grounds in London. After a week of worry about how the weather will turn out on the weekend, the Royal wedding and Theo's barmitzvah were granted an amazing sunny weekend, which worked perfectly for the family photos.

After a few bar mitzvah photography jobs in Central London it's a pleasure to say that barmitzvah photography can be as artistic as a wedding photography when the boy or girl celebrating their bar mitzvah are eager to pose.
I look forward to the next opportunity of a barmitzvah photography in London.

Barmitzvah Photography at Lord's Cricket Grounds, London

Here is a slideshow of Theo's barmitzvah with the highlights of the day (it's a small resolution due to it's size).
Until three years ago when I photographed Joel's barmitzvah I was not familiar with the Jewish tradition of Barmitzvah or Bat Mitzvah or Barmi as people often call it. According to Jewish law, when Jewish children reach 13 years of age, they become responsible for their actions, and "become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah".
The Bar Mitzvah ceremony involves the young man or woman being called to read the Torah, at a Shabbat or other service when the Torah is read. The event is one of the most important events in the life of a Jew and the service in the synagogue is usually followed by a big party.

Destination Wedding photography in Grenada and the Grenadine islands

My latest Caribbean trip was to the Grenadine islands. This part of the world is always breathtaking with its colours, but having done many landscapes in colour I decided to try classic Black and White landscapes of the scenery of Bequia, Grenada and the Tobago Quays.
Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines are well renowned for destinations weddings and honeymoons so while we were stationed at Grenada I had the opportunity to get in touch with Binta Patrick who is the wedding coordinator for True Blue Bay (www.TrueBlueBay.com). There are not many high end wedding planners in Grenada so Binta is one of the few people who can help with destination weddings in Grenada and the Grenadines. Hope the next trip to the Grenadines will be a comission for a destination weddings photography in the Grenadines.

Event Photography Barcelona 2011 GSMA Congress in Barcelona Spain

Event photography is never as exciting as wedding photography, but being one of the official photographers for the biggest annual event for the mobile phone industry - the GSMA congress that takes place in Barcelona every year - was a mind-blowing experience. It was 5 hard days of work plus a few private dinners before the congress started.
The event took place at the magnificent building of the National Palace at Montjuic park. In the evening the fountains create a breathtaking performance of water and light. I used my conference pass to convince the reception of the nearby hotel to use their roof top to take some aerial shots of the venue which the organisers loved.
It was amazing to see all the latest technology of 3D mobiles and the highlight of the event was the opportunity to photograph the CEO of Google Eric Schmidt and the CEO of Ericsson Hans Vestberg. But I have to say that after 5 days of listening about mobile phones I was looking forward to do another wedding.
I definitely loved working in Barcelona. Not only because I could eat pan con tomate and olive oil every night 8 days in a row, but I could do a job at a dinner party and finish at 9.30pm and the night was just starting. The locals haven't even gone out for dinner. After I met with a few wedding planners in Barcelona I hope a comission for a destination wedding photography in Spain is not too far away.
