Central London Pre Wedding Photography

Ed and Lucy were getting married in Canada and have already chosen their wedding photographer when we met so unfortunately I wasn't able to offer my services for a destination wedding photography in Canada. However they were interested in an engagement photography session. We decided to go for a more urban look and do the engagement photos in the area of the Docklands in London. We did a few urban looking shots but I was just thrilled when Lucy was eager to lie down on the chilled pavement next to the cute red flowers which perfectly complimented her red dress. The colors of her dress which she has chosen for her pre wedding photography shoot became even more vibrant red color as it was getting dark. I can only hope more that my future brides would be willing to go the extra mile to get some more nontraditional engagement photography shots as well as wedding photography pictures. The lying down shots are extremely popular in Australian and American wedding photography but unfortunately the British brides are quite careful with their wedding dresses. There are tricks on how to maintain the dress clean even with wedding photography of the couple lying down but I would be equally happy if the bride is willing to experiment with some more creative wedding photography shots after the wedding at a trash the dress wedding photography session.

Trash the dress Wedding Photography London Docklands

Trash the Dress photography, rock the frock photography, after wedding photography or what I prefer to call cherish the dress photography has gained popularity over the last few years with brides. The session offers unique opportunity for the bride to wear her gown again, but this time in a less stressful atmosphere. That's why I really like the term I once heard 'trash the stress' wedding photography. Without the stress of the wedding day, the creative after wedding photography of trash the dress photo session allow for plenty of time for set-ups, different lighting scenarios, posing experiments, creativity and fun. As this session is fully dedicated to the couple it allows for some beautiful and creative images with a touch of romance to be captured. As the couple is also much more relaxed without the pressure of the guests waiting for them, I get their full attention and the results are always very rewarding. I usually encourage the couple to choose a place that they like, or a beautiful landmark of the city, or maybe a romantic place that has some significance to them. For the after wedding photography session I had with Ed and Lucy we decided to go for something different, not the obvious landmarks of London like the Parliament or Westminster Abbey or London Eye. So we have decided to do our after wedding photography session in the Docklands in London. We certainly got a lot of attention with all the equipment we carried, especially from the security people, but they showed some understanding when they saw the wedding dress. :) Well, I didn't utilise so much the skysrapers as I did in NY Time Square, but I think the light on the bridge was lovely for a more glamour fashion style of trash the dress photography. We aimed to do something different from the classical wedding photography photos and I believe it resulted in some beautiful after wedding photography in London.

Central London Wedding Photography Russell Hotel Bloomsbury

Recently I had the joy of being the wedding photographer in Central London for this lovely Irish couple. The wedding ceremony took place in this magnificent Catholic church in Central London which had high ceilings provided great light for the wedding photography during the wedding ceremony. The magnificence of the church really humbles you when you enter.
The trip to the wedding venue was on one of those double-decker red buses with all the guests. The buses are ideal means of transportation for a Central London wedding. But it's also great fun and provides the chance to snap a few more casual photos of the guests before the formal wedding photography photos and the speeches. The reception took place at the Central London hotel Russell Hotel in the heart of Bloomsbury. The building is really phenomenal and the interior is stunning. Pity that we couldn't fully explore it's potential for more creative photography shots as the couple preferred to have a longer wedding photography session of all the formal wedding photography as there was a long list of family group photos and friends group photos. I photographed maybe 100 formal wedding group shots as the the bride and groom wanted a picture with every at the wedding. But I now understand this is something quite typical for Irish wedding photography as the Irish weddings are usually quite big weddings and every guest is very important.
